U16 MEN’S NATIONAL TEAM FINAL TRAINING CAMP TIPS-OFF MAY 28

(TORONTO, ON) – The U16 Men’s National Team will hold its final training camp in preparation for U16 FIBA Americas in Bahia Blanca, Argentina from June 10-14. Head Coach, Dave DeAveiro will gather his 14-man squad in Toronto, Ont. at Humber College – North Campus from May 28-June 4.

The U16 team will compete in the FIBA Americas competition, which serves as a qualifier for the 2016 FIBA World Championships.

DeAveiro, a native of Toronto, returns for his fourth year coaching the U16/U17 age-group team. He is joined by assistants Michael Meeks (Canada Basketball) and James Derouin (University of Ottawa), as well as apprentice coach Nicky Davis (Sheridan College).

DeAveiro will host a media conference call on May 28 at 3:00 P.M. to discuss the upcoming competitive season.

Practice on June 2 will be open to media, beginning at 12:00 p.m. ET. Coaches and athletes will be available for post-practice scrums. Media can contact communications@basketball.ca to confirm attendance for conference call and/or open practice.
