The Platinum Circuit’s fourth session highlighted key shifts in the standings. Brampton City Prep (BCP) dominated the weekend, finishing 3-0 and remain one of three undefeated teams in the circuit. They were one of 12 teams that participated in the action this weekend. The 17 games played on the weekend significantly changed the top of the standings. Alongside BCP, Bill Crothers finished the weekend undefeated with three wins, pushing themselves to second. Close behind is Lincoln Prep, who faced tough competition this week but finished with one win, which was enough to move them into third place. CTA Red and CTA Gold dropped into fourth and fifth respectively but remain key teams to watch going into the final session in February.
Over the weekend, we witnessed several games that could serve as early previews of the championship matchups in March. One featured two contenders in BCP vs. Lincoln Prep, who were both undefeated entering the game. The first half was tightly contested, with Alessandro Acosta-Reyes scoring eight early points to give Lincoln Prep a three-point lead at halftime. However, BCP responded aggressively in the third, relying on the slashing ability of Te’Ziah Malcolm and Isaiah Olunloyo. A dominant 30-point third quarter secured a ten-point lead they maintained comfortably. Acosta-Reyes finished with 24 points, while Malcolm and Olunloyo contributed 14 and 13 respectively, leading BCP to victory.
A new TPC single-game point record was also set during session 4. Bill Crothers guard Jacob McGregor was lethal against Oakville Prep, pouring in 61 points in a 107-83 win. The class of 2026 guard was finding success at all three levels on offense. His athletic finishing, tight handles, and efficient three-point shooting make him a serious scoring threat each time he touches the ball. Alongside McGregor, Bill Crothers forwards Zane Sikaneta (32pts), and Liam Shaw (25pts) had strong scoring outputs in their two other games. Finishing the weekend undefeated and winning each game by double figures, Bill Crothers emerged as serious contenders for the Platinum Circuit Championship.
