The Platinum Circuit’s (TPC) fifth session was the last chance for teams to solidify their position ahead of the championships in March. The snowy weekend led to a shorter session of just eight games, with six matchups cancelled due to the weather. Despite the disruptions, the competition remained intense, with Brampton City Prep (BCP) and Northstar emerging as the weekend’s top teams. Both teams maintained undefeated records, with BCP extending their win streak to nine and Northstar picking up three wins to push them into the top 5 of the TPC season standings. Additionally, Uchenna Academy stayed productive, finishing with a 2-1 record despite a highly contested double overtime thriller against West United Prep. With the regular season over, each matchup was crucial in determining team rankings heading into the championship rounds.

Since their debut in session three, Northstar has shown flashes of being a top TPC contender. In session five weekend, they proved their potential, winning all three games by double figures. The Winnipeg-based team thrived on a high-intensity offense that maximized their starting five’s athleticism. 6’3” guard Ajay Alleyne led the charge, averaging 15ppg, including a 30-point performance against Orangeville Prep BDA, highlighted by four transition dunks. Northstar also excelled in floor spacing, with sharpshooting forward Izaec Oppal hitting key catch-and-shoot threes, including four in a 19-point effort against West United Prep. The final piece was 6’8” Anei Majock, a versatile wing who anchored both ends, averaging 20ppg. The class of 2026 recruit recorded the weekend’s highest-scoring game, putting up 31 against SC Academy. After the successful weekend, Northstar looks to carry this momentum into the championship session.

With fewer players in action, the Platinum Circuit still showcased elite talent this weekend. Ajay Alleyne, Anei Majock, Jaiden Kandasamy, Eric Ballo and Theodore Cuenot all delivered on the court, earning recognition as the weekend’s top five performers.
