The Platinum Circuit (TPC) championship day showcased elite prep talent from across Canada. Advancing from their respective pools were Brampton City Prep, CTA Gold, Bill Crothers, and Shawinigan Prep (Shawi Prep). Number one-ranked Brampton City Prep advanced from Pool A with a 1-1 record after rebounding from their first loss of the season vs. Tri-City Provincial.

CTA Gold dominated Pool B, finishing 3-0, remaining undefeated in the TPC. Bill Crothers topped Pool C with three wins and entered the championship weekend on a six-game win streak. Representing Quebec, Shawinigan Prep claimed Pool D on point differential in a tight three-team race. The final four were two wins away from the 2025 TPC title.

The semi-finals featured two TPC favourites as CTA Gold took on Bill Crothers. Bill Crothers came out strong, opening the game on a 10-2 run led by Jacob McGregor (14pts).

CTA responded in the second quarter with a run of their own, sparked by three triples from Logan Millar (11pts), leaving the game tied at halftime. CTA built momentum and entered the fourth quarter with a slim lead. With limited time, Bill Crothers clawed back in the final minutes, turning two forced turnovers into transition buckets. Bieva Cabant (17pts) then buried a clutch three to put them up four with 30 seconds left.  Waris Njoya responded quickly with a tough midrange jumper to cut the lead to one. Wasting no time, CTA’s defensive pressure forced a backcourt violation, giving them an opportunity to complete the comeback. Mateo Andjelic rose to the moment, sinking the game-winning buzzer-beater to give CTA Gold the 57-56 win and a trip to the finals.

The other side of the bracket featured a competitive matchup between Brampton City Prep (BCP) and Shawi Prep. BCP entered as the favourite, but Shawinigan kept it tight early, leading by two after the first quarter. BCP responded with a strong second quarter, going on a 14-5 run fueled by Te’Ziah Malcolm’s dominant inside play. Malcolm scored 12 points in the quarter and finished with 17 overall, helping BCP take an 11-point lead into the fourth, up 72-61. However, the story of the game was Shawinigan Prep’s resilience. They exploded for 32 points in the fourth while clamping down defensively, holding BCP to just 12.  The high-scoring trio of Frank Thomas (20pts), Ian González (23pts), and André Prenda (19pts) led Shawinigan Prep’s stunning comeback and secured their place in the TPC finals, with a final score of 93-84.

Both finalists entered the championship with something to prove. Ottawa-based CTA Gold looked to complete a perfect, undefeated season, while Shawinigan Prep, the underdogs from Quebec, aimed to continue their impressive run and take down another top contender.

CTA Gold struggled to find their rhythm early on, trailing by four after the first quarter. But the momentum quickly shifted in the second as Logan Millar caught fire, drilling four straight threes without a miss. CTA Gold outscored Shawi Prep 28-13 in the quarter and took control of the game. Millar finished with a game-high 20 points, while Waris Njoya added 16, combining for nine made threes to build a commanding lead by the third. Shawi Prep fought hard, but no player was able to take over offensively, like in previous rounds. The deficit proved too much to overcome, with the Final score of 75-69. Logan Millar was named Most Outstanding Player of the Platinum Circuit Championship, as Coach Tony House and CTA Gold capped off a perfect season to become the 2024 TPC Champions.
